The Story of the VOP

    This 40-page booklet tells the story of the Violent Offender Program at Missouri Eastern Correctional Center -- a truly unusual and extraordinarily hopeful program created by and for violent offenders.  The combination of program processes and testimonies from the offenders themselves as well as some of the outside volunteers working with them, plus some of their restorative justice efforts, provides inspiration and practical tools for others both outside and inside prison.  The essays from these same offenders in the accompanying 12-page newsletter on the Inmate Pledge of Nonviolence are even more helpful for "outmates" as well as inmates.
