Acting for Justice
A New Program on Catholic Social
Teaching
As
part of the “People of Faith: Generations Learning Together” program, in
collaboration with the Center for Ministry Development, Harcourt Religion
has created this new program for parishes and others on Catholic Social
Teaching. In addition to the extensive materials for the program leaders,
there are a series of six participant magazines written primarily by Jim
McGinnis:
Issue 1: Dignity of Human Life
Issue 2: Human Rights and Responsibilities
Issue 3: Peace
Issue 4: Option for the Poor
Issue 5: Solidarity with All God’s People
Issue 6: Care for God’s Creation
See list of contents for each issue below pricing information. Each
of these attractively designed 16-page magazines includes a presentation of
the Church’s teaching on the issue, stories illustrating the issue, a wide
variety of ways of putting it into practice, and activities for families,
children, and youth, as well as Scriptural reflection and prayer.
In addition to their use by the whole parish, these magazines can also be
used by individual families, in courses on Catholic social teaching for
grades 7-12, by parish social ministry groups, or by CFM and other family
support groups.
For the full program or bulk copies (10 per pack) of the magazines,
